Short films are one of the most exciting, creative, and the purest way of expressions in the film world.We are aiming to set the base of independent filmmaking and the industry of shortfilms in Hokkaido through our creative activities.

マックスコアルームプロジェクトは札幌を拠点に活動するショートフィルム制作集団です。ショートフィルム、ミュージックビデオ、コマーシャル、TVコンテンツ、ビデオプロモーション等、短編映像コンテンツを制作しています。

マックスコアルームプロジェクトは映画監督の島田英二とアラキマサヒトによって2001年に設立され、経済産業省主催のデジタルコンテンツ制作支援事業の１つとして始まりました。
2002年には札幌のインタークロス・クリエイティブセンターに入居し活動を本格化。アメリカで日本人初の部門グランプリを受賞した「6:00PM」や、イギリスでアワードを受賞、フランスのポンピドゥーセンターにも収蔵された「アイロニーモード008」など、国内外で評価を受ける映像作品を数多く作り出し、2005年にはこうした国際的な活動と実績が評価されICCベストコンテンツアワードを受賞しています。

2002年からは映像教育の活動を開始。オリジナルの映像教育教材やメソッドの開発や札幌市内小学校を中心に子どもたちの映画制作体験授業、大学等での講演活動も行っています。2006年からは札幌国際短編映画祭と連携し、映像教育の普及活動やゲスト講師、映像制作ワークショップ等を企画・実践しています。

Max Core Room Project is a Sapporo-based filmmakers' production group set up in 2001. We work in short films, music videos, commercials, TVs, video promotions, and any other short footages.

MCRP was founded by two independent filmmakers, Eiji Shimada and Masahito Araki as one of the competition-winner projects supported by the Ministry of Economy and Industy of Japan. In 2002, MCRP moved to be a resident of Intercross Creative Center in Sapporo, and started independent filmmaking more actively. During three years of ICC, MCRP produced twenty nine short films including internationally awarded shorts Ironymode008 (Winner of visualization award in Filmstock Film Festival/ selection of Centre Pompidou) and 6PM (Winner of Best-mini short in California Independent Film Festival). Cited as an internationally active film producton from Hokkaido in digital generation, MCRP was awarded ICC Best Contents Award of the Year 2005.

MCRP has also been working for the film education since 2002. Researching and devoloping original teaching resources and methods, we have been holding filmmaking workshops mainly in elementary schools and lectures in universities. Since 2006 we have been working with Sapporo International Short Fest for the open opportunities of film education and media literacy in Sapporo.
